Join ACEC for the 2023 Engineering Excellence Awards Gala—the “Academy Awards” of the engineering industry—which recognizes preeminent engineering achievements from throughout the world, including the Grand Conceptor Award for the year’s best overall engineering accomplishment.
All award winners will be recognized at the black-tie EEA Gala Dinner and Awards Program. The Gala evening begins with Reception at 6:00 P.M. The awards show kicks off with a special celebration honoring Charlie Blackwell-Thompson, NASA’s Launch Director, who will be presented with ACEC’s 2023 Distinguished Award of Merit. This award is given to an individual for exemplary achievement in the field of engineering, pure or applied natural science, or an educator in one of more of these fields, either American or foreign.
The evening continuous with tributes of 2023 National Recognition Award Winners, Dinner, and presentation of the year’s Top Awards and closes with an After party with live music and dancing.
The original Gala Maestro—six-time Emmy Award winning author, comedian and TV Host, Ross Shafer, will once again host the black-tie EEA Gala. Shafer is credited with helping grow the Gala—now in its 56th year—into the industry’s most prestigious awards event.

Tickets, tables and sponsorships for the EEA Gala can be purchased online here. EEA Gala Registration must be received by Monday, June 5th. When you are registering for the EEA Gala, you will be asked to select ticket purchase, table purchase or sponsorship. Individual tickets are $450.00 each. Tables of 10 are $3,900.00 each. The hotel block for the EEA Gala is now closed but ACEC does have some rooms available at the ACEC discounted rate. If you are in need of a hotel room at the Grand Hyatt Washington, please email meetings@acec.org with your desired arrival and departure dates.
Grand Hyatt Washington is located in downtown Washington, D.C., just blocks away from the National Mall. Immerse yourself in the historic sights, luxury shopping, and alluring nightlife of the nation's capital. Ronald Reagan Washington National Aiport (DCA) is located 5 miles from the Grand Hyatt Washington and Dulles International Airport (IAD) is located 27 miles away. Metro Center Station on the Red Line can be accessed through the hotel lobby.
2023 EEA Gala Tuxedo Rentals Available
Tuxedo Rentals for the upcoming ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards Gala, to be held Tuesday, June 13, at the Grand Hyatt, Washington, D.C. will be available through M. Stein & Company.

A classic tuxedo is $95 without shoes, and $100 with shoes. The price does include an insurance damage waiver cost.
To ensure a special ACEC rate and on-time hotel delivery, please mention that you are with the "ACEC Group". Tuxedo orders must be received by May 13th, 2023, to receive the discounted price. After the cut-off date, a classic tuxedo will be $145 without shoes, and $150 with shoes.
Please remember to pick up before your rental before the event at the hotel concierge and drop-off your rental at the hotel concierge afterward.
EEA Gala Cancellation Policy:
EEA Individual Tickets, less a $35 processing fee will be refunded, if written notification is received on or before May 19th, 2023. EEA Table(s) of 10, less a $300 processing fee will be refunded if written notification is received on or before May 19th, 2023. No refunds will be granted after this date.
