ACEC of Maine Fall Forum

Please join ACEC of Maine for our annual Fall Forum, Ready for the Challenge: Planning for the Future via Zoom on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 8:30am - 12:30pm.

We will be joined by J.D. Clockdale, Chief Development Officer and Coach at Speechworks, Inc. Speechworks helps business development teams become more effective with short-list presentations and helps leaders, executives and sales professionals deliver complex information in a simple, persuasive way while handling Q&A in a way that builds credibility and confidence with the audience.

J.D. works with prominent companies such as DLR Group, Brasfield & Gorrie, JE Dunn, Gresham Smith and Gensler. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is also an adjunct lecturer for business communications in Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business MBA program.
When not helping AEC firms compete in short-list presentations, J.D. serves on the Board of Appeals for the City of Brookhaven, GA, is an active donor to the Navy SEAL Foundation, and helps former special operations soldiers transition to private sector careers.

Steve Hall, ACEC Senior Vice President for Advocacy will also be joining us. Steve has been with ACEC since 2001.  Prior to joining ACEC, he worked on Capitol Hill for 14 years, including the role of Chief of Staff and Legislative Director for Congresswoman Sue Kelly (R-NY). Prior to joining the Kelly office in 1995, Steve served for two years as Senior Legislative Assistant on the staff of Congressman Bill Zeliff (R-NH), where he handled the Congressman's work on the Transportation and Infrastructure and Government Operations Committees. He also handled transportation and infrastructure issues for Congressman Matthew Rinaldo through congressional consideration and passage of ISTEA in 1991. He began his Hill career in 1987 as a legislative assistant in the office of Congressman John Hiler (R-IN).

An avid hunter and angler, Steve lives with his wife Terre and daughter Sarah in McLean, VA. Sarah is in her fourth year in the biomedical engineering program at the University of Virginia.
