MINUTEMAN FUND AWARDS GRANT TO ACEC/OREGON

The Minuteman Fund awarded a grant to ACEC/Oregon to help support an advocacy campaign that will educate legislators and the public on the need to pass a comprehensive transportation package during the 2017 Oregon legislative session. This package would raise gas taxes and fees to address congestion and freight movement; seismic vulnerability; and multi-modal investments such as transit in the state’s urban areas.

 

MINUTEMAN FUND AWARDS GRANT TO WASHINGTON STATE FOR TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDING

The Minuteman Fund awarded a grant to ACEC/Washington to help support its efforts to pass a November 2016 ballot referendum for billions of dollars in transportation infrastructure funding. The ballot measure, “ST3,” represents a capital development package for the Puget Sound area. ST3 includes more than $35 billion in investment for infrastructure design and construction to expand the regional high-capacity transportation system.

 

MINUTEMAN FUND HELPS MICHIGAN DEFEND CONTRACTUAL LEGAL DEFENSES IN COURT

The Minuteman Fund awarded a grant to ACEC/Michigan to help defray the cost of an amicus brief defending the Economic Loss Doctrine and EJCDC contract language in a case before the Michigan Court of Appeals. The brief asks the Court to recognize vitally important contractual defenses for the engineer that could set an important precedent for Michigan and other jurisdictions. ACEC/Michigan Executive Director Ron Brenke has expressed thanks for the Minuteman Fund’s support.
